COLUMBUS — Over 46,000 new unemployment claims were filed by Ohioans last week, bringing the total number of jobless claims filed in the last nine weeks in the state to over 1.2 million, according to new data released by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.

The total number of applicants is more than the combined total of those filed in the last three years, according to JFS data. In the last nine weeks, $2.8 billion in unemployment compensation has been paid out.

The ODJFS says over 92 percent of all unemployment applications have been processed, with less than 8 percent pending.

New unemployment claims were down nearly 10 percent from last week and the total amount of claims were down nearly 6 percent.

- Butler: 1,375
- Champaign: 121
- Clark: 405
- Clinton: 125
- Darke: 219
- Greene: 505
- Logan: 173
- Mercer: 171
- Miami: 490
- Montgomery: 2,328
- Preble: 110
- Shelby: 229
- Warren: 706
