UPDATE @ 6:15 p.m.

The body of a middle-aged man was found this evening in the passenger seat of a car in the Kroger parking lot.

Moraine police Sgt. Jason Neubauer said the man’s cause of death is under investigation and that the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has been called to send an investigator.

The body was reported by someone walking through the parking lot, he said.

When asked whether it was unusual to have a body reported in the Kroger lot, Neubauer said the heroin epidemic is such that a body found is not out of the ordinary, however, the sergeant would not confirm that heroin was suspected in the death.
