1 dog dies in apartment fire on South Wayne Meadows Circle in Huber Heights

UPDATE @ 1:51 a.m.

Fire crews put out an apartment fire on South Wayne Meadows Circle in Huber Heights early Sunday morning.

Battalion Chief Greg Baumle on scene stated that there were no injuries to residents or fire personnel however, 1 dog did perish in the blaze.

“When we arrived, we could hear smoke detectors going off in the home," said Baumle.

" That the most important thing for fire safety is to have a working smoke detector in your home. Smoke detectors save lives." Baumle further stated.

The Red Cross has been contacted to help the displaced homeowner.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Crews are on scene of a fire, since knocked down, reported around 11:25 p.m. in the 4500 block of South Wayne Meadows Circle in Huber Heights.
