Boy, 12, accused of making terroristic threat at Holy Angels School

DAYTON — A 12-year-old Holy Angels student is accused of making a terroristic threat in one of two such incidents reported this week at schools in Dayton.

The 12-year-old boy was ordered into Montgomery County Juvenile Court after Dayton police launched an investigation Wednesday into terror threats at the school, 233 L St.

Holy Angels administrators did not return calls seeking comment.

Police on Thursday responded to a report of a threat at Emerson Academy, a charter school at 501 Hickory St.

Calls there were referred to the Michigan operator, National Heritage Academies. They said: “School leadership was made aware of a situation and we immediately contacted local law enforcement officials to investigate the matter. At no time were our students in danger.”

Nautica Finley of Dayton was picking up her elementary age sisters Friday from Emerson Academy. She said nothing can be ignored when it comes to school safety.

“Very glad they take it seriously, otherwise I would have a huge problem with it because I care about my sisters,” she said.
