Dayton man pleads not guilty to gunpoint robbery at Moraine shopping plaza

A judge set bond at $50,000 for a 19-year-old Dayton man accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint.

Marc A. Shields pleaded not guilty to charges Tuesday morning in a Montgomery County Common Pleas court.

His next court date is scheduled for May 7.

INITIAL REPORT:

A 19-year-old Dayton man accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint earlier this month at the Alex-Bell Plaza in Moraine has been indicted.

Marc A. Shields Jr. is charged with aggravated robbery with a three-year firearm specification, carrying concealed weapons and tampering with evidence, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report released Tuesday.

He is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail and is due in court April 16 for his arraignment.

Shields was taken into custody April 1 following a brief foot chase into a residential neighborhood. His arrest came not too long after the robbery  was reported in the parking lot of the shopping plaza in the 5700 block of North Springboro Pike (state Route 741).
