Dayton man, 19, faces 20 more charges in rape case

DAYTON — A 19-year-old accused of sexually assaulting a teen as punishment was indicted today for sex crimes that he was accused of committing as a juvenile.

Zaren Wiesenborn will be tried as an adult for seven counts of rape and four counts of kidnapping (sexual activity); and nine counts of gross sexual imposition (by force), according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

This brings the total charges against him to 33, said Greg Flannagan, spokesman for the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

In April, Wiesenborn was indicted on six counts of rape, three counts of kidnapping and four counts of gross sexual imposition involving a 17-year-old girl known to him.

According to court records, detectives said Wiesenborn “admitted he liked feeling the power of control over (the girl) and he would do these actions as a punishment toward her for aggravating him.”

Wiesenborn remains in the Montgomery County Jail, where he is held on $500,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on the new charges, which Flannagan said involve the same accuser.
