Blood on a display case at the business, 1171 W. Third St., led investigators to the two suspects, according to court documents.

On Aug. 29, three people entered the Ohio Loan Co. with guns drawn and multiple bags, video surveillance showed. The trio took more than two dozen guns and fled in a gold Chevrolet sedan.

An employee told police the robbers fired at the store’s glass display case and stole 29 handguns, as well as cash and jewelry, according to the marshals service. A worker reportedly was assaulted with a handgun, but was not shot.

While watching the surveillance video, detectives saw that two of the suspects may have cut themselves on the display case glass, according to an affidavit.

Police collected glass and blood from the scene and sent the evidence to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation for testing.

“The suspects, Tony Jackson and Sean Chappell, were named in the BCI report as the only two connected to the DNA analysis,” the affidavit read.

Jackson was arrested in the 1200 block of North Gettysburg Avenue and Chappell was apprehended in the 50 block of Bragg Place, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
