DAYTON — Dayton police called off a standoff at a home on Ridge Avenue Tuesday morning after the suspect refused to come out of the house.

Officers responded to the home in the 3400 block of Ridge Avenue after a woman called police to report that a neighbor shot at her adult son.

Multiple police officers surrounded the home with guns drawn and used a loud speaker to order the suspect to come out.  But the man, who police has not identified, did not come out.

The SWAT did not come out because the suspect did not commit a felony, officers on the scene said.

So after more than an hour police called off the standoff, and said they’ll get a warrant and return to the man’s home at another time.
