Dayton man identified as victim of deadly overnight crash

DAYTON — A Dayton man was killed in a  crash on James H. McGee Boulevard early Monday morning.

Dion Rutledge, 30, was identified as the victim of the crash, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Rutledge was the driver of the car that crashed around 1 a.m. Monday near the intersection of James H. McGee Boulevard and Philadelphia Drive, Dayton police said.

Both the Rutledge and passenger were removed from the mangled car and taken to a local hospital,Dayton police Sgt. Chad Knedler said.

Rutledge was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

The passenger in the car, who was not identified, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police did not release any potential factors in the crash.
