1 in custody after Kettering police issue call for officer assistance at Dot’s Market

UPDATE @ 7:55 p.m.

Police were called to a report of a suspicious person, who ran across Patterson Road when an officer arrived.

The officer pursuing on foot spotted a knife, which led the officer to issue a “Signal 99” radio call for urgent assistance, which brought other officers from Kettering, Oakwood and Dayton.

Police were able to take the man into custody, and he was taken to Kettering Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. He will be booked into jail on suspicion of felony drug charges and possibly resisting arrest and obstructing official business, according to Kettering police.

A Kettering officer also suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene.

One person is in custody tonight after Kettering police issued a “Signal 99” radio call for urgent officer assistance outside Dot’s Market.

Police were seen searching a white SUV in the parking lot, and one officer appeared to suffer hand injuries that were being photographed by police investigators.

Police issued a call for urgent officer assistance tonight outside Dot’s Market.

Crews from around the area responded shortly before 7 p.m. to the grocery store at 2274 Patterson Road in Kettering.

According to initial reports, there was an incident possibly involving a knife, which triggered police to issue the “Signal 99” for officer assistance.
