Diane Mathis, 52, was indicted Friday for aggravated arson and felonious assault in the July 14 attack of Isaac Dillard Jr. at his home in Dayton.
Dillard said he allowed his uncle and Mathis to live with him when the tornadoes forced them out. But his uncle took off after an argument with Mathis, who then took her anger out on him, Dillard said.
He said she began tearing up his house, and then when he went to his bedroom to sleep, she threw water on him, or so he thought. Dayton Municipal Court documents indicate it actually was flammable liquids.

When Dillard stood up, he said Mathis had a lighter in her hand and flicked it, setting him on fire. He was able to escape and douse the flames.
Since then, Dillard has had multiple procedures at Miami Valley Hospital.
Mathis will be arraigned Tuesday. She remains in the Montgomery County Jail, where she has been held since her July 14 arrest.
