Criminal charge against man accused in reported U-Haul truck theft was refused

UPDATE @ 8:40 p.m. (May 23): A theft charge pursued in the reported stealing of a U-Haul truck was refused after a police investigation, A Dayton police official said.

Blake Amburgey, arrested in the incident, was never charged, the police official said.

The official said the truck, reportedly taken from the U-Haul office on East Third Street, was found.

A man accused of stealing a U-Haul truck from a U-Haul office on East Third Street has been released from jail.

Blake Amburgey is no longer listed as an inmate in the Montgomery County Jail. No other information about the case is available.

INITIAL REPORT

An 18-year-old man was arrested Thursday evening (May 16) for reportedly stealing a truck from a Dayton business, according to a police incident report.

Blake Amburgey reportedly stole a U-Haul from U-Haul Moving & Storage of Dayton, 1340 E. Third St.
