Man who died after being shot in Dayton alley identified

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 12:52 p.m.:

The 23-year-old shot in an alley behind DJ’s Furniture has been identified as Damian Chancellor, of Dayton, according to the coroner’s office.

Police believe a group of people were involved in an altercation when a shot was fired, hitting Chancellor.

The group ran from the area, leaving him behind after he was shot.

Additional details were not available.

UPDATE @10:50 a.m.

The shooting victim has died, according to Dayton police.

The identity of the victim, a 23-year-old male, has not been released.

A man was screaming for help tonight, saying he’d been shot and robbed.

Crews were called at 10 p.m. to 2 E. Hudson Ave. in Dayton, where a man had been shot behind DJ’s Furniture.

No suspect information was available, and the victim’s name, age and condition also were not available.
