Man threatened at gunpoint, 2 suspects steal his car in Springfield

A man police his car was stolen at gunpoint Friday at BP when he went to buy gas.

When the man returned to his car around noon at the gas station, 2300 S. Limestone St., a male was in his back seat pointing a black pistol at him, according to a Springfield police report.

The suspect told the victim to “drive” until they arrived at an unknown location, picked up a second suspect and drove about five more minutes before stopping again.

The second suspect got out of the front passenger seat, took off his ankle monitor, threw it, and told the victim to get out of the car, read the report.

The two suspects then drove away with the victim’s Chrysler 300 in an unknown direction.

The first suspect is about 5 feet, 9 inches, 160 pounds and has black hair. He was wearing a black hat, black hoodie and blue jeans.

The second suspect is about 6 feet, 120 pounds, and has brown hair. He was wearing a red and black hat, red and black zip-up hoodie, white shirt, black shorts, gray shoes and an ankle monitor.
