Police: Family Dollar robber uses fake gun, goes behind counter

DAYTON — Police are searching for a man who reportedly used a fake handgun to rob a Family Dollar store.

The armed robbery was reported around 5:30 p.m. at the store, 1125 Wayne Ave., in Dayton.

The robber went behind the counter and told a cashier he wanted the money.

He got away with two cash drawers containing an unknown amount of money, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

No injuries were reported, and the incident is under investigation.
