Dayton homicide detectives are reviewing a traffic stop in Enon that led to a chase and crash in Huber Heights over the weekend.
The chase began in Enon after a police officer tried to pull over a silver 2012 Kia Rio5 around 3 a.m. Saturday in front of Rite Aid on North Main Street in the village. The officer spotted the car headed west on East Main Street without its rear license plate illuminated, and found out the car was stolen and had “armed and dangerous” cautions and that “occupants could be involved in a homicide,” according to an Enon incident report.
The driver took off, with speeds reaching 90 mph on Dayton-Springfield Road headed into Fairborn, the report stated.

Cruiser camera video released by Fairborn police Monday shows a Fairborn officer trying to catch up to the vehicle.
During the pursuit, Clark County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers relayed information to crews that the vehicle was reported stolen, and that the people inside could be involved in a Dayton homicide and cellphone store robbery.
The driver crashed in Huber Heights, near the intersection of Kitridge Road and state Route 201. That is where the driver lost control and hit the curb of Kitridge Road, drove off the pavement, and crashed into a fence in a yard.
Everyone inside the car jumped out and ran into a large wooded area.
Police and a K-9 unit searched for the occupants, who slipped away in the rain and darkness.
Based on scanner traffic during the pursuit, the homicide that may be related to the chase suspects is believed to be that of 37-year-old La’Peetra Dawson. She was found shot to death Nov. 13 inside her home in the 2800 block of Millicent Avenue after police said someone fired shots outside the house.
