Dayton man dies from injuries in Harrison Twp. shooting

HARRISON TWP. — UPDATE @ 12:45 p.m. (Nov. 15):

A man shot last week on East Nottingham Road has died from his injuries, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Gregory Fickler, 20, of Dayton, died Wednesday night at Kettering Medical Center.

He was shot Nov. 9 in the 200 block of East Nottingham Road in Harrison Twp.

UPDATE @ 7:10 a.m (Nov. 9):

A 20-year-Dayton old man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was shot early Friday in the 200 block of East Nottingham Road.

Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was shot by one or two unknown men wearing black clothing just after midnight, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooters fled in an unknown direction, but it is unclear whether they fled on foot or in a vehicle, the release stated.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Grandview Medical Center later was transferred to Kettering Medical Center.

The incident remains under investigation.

INITIAL REPORT

A man was shot inside an apartment early this morning.

Crews were called around 12:05 a.m. to the 200 block of East Nottingham Road.

There was no word on the gunshot victim’s condition, or any information on a suspect.

There also was a report of a bullet that struck a home nearby, which could be related to gunfire on East Nottingham Road, according to initial reports.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
