911 caller saw victim on the ground after he was shot in an unlicensed bar

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 11:15 a.m.:

A 911 caller reported that she saw a man on the ground in front of her that had been shot.

She said that the victim was not breathing.

The caller said she did not see the shooters, but police were searching for three armed suspects that fled the area according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim has not yet been identified.

The incident remains under investigation.

EARLIER REPORT:

A man was killed early this morning in an unlicensed bar, according to Dayton Police Sgt. Doug George.

The building, in the 3900 block of West Third Street, was being used as an after-hours, unlicensed bar, George said.

Police were still investigating the homicide, he said.

Police and medics responded to a shooting originally reported at West Third Street and North Gettysburg Avenue around 3:40 a.m. However, our crew on scene reported that police are investigating a building at West Third Street and North Hatfield Street.

Scanner traffic indicated that officers were searching for three armed suspects that fled the area in a car.
