Police seek public’s help in Christmas hit-and-run crash; pedestrian still hospitalized

DAYTON — A pedestrian struck on Christmas by a hit-and-run driver remains in the hospital, and police are seeking the public’s help with their investigation.

The pedestrian, 67-year-old Hilary Williams, was struck shortly before 7 p.m. Dec. 25 in the 400 block of Dearborn Avenue near McCall Street as he walked back to his car following Christmas dinner with his family. He suffered multiple broken bones and other injuries, family members said.

The hit-and-run vehicle is described as a possible SUV, dark in color, with four doors and tinted windows. It would have damage to the right front side and a broken right headlight, according to Dayton police.
