Police seek public’s help in Miamisburg home burglary

MIAMISBURG — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who broke into a Miamisburg home and stole jewelry and money.

On Tuesday around 1:30 p.m., two men broke into the Byers Ridge Drive home through the back glass door, police said.

Video surveillance inside the home captured the pair crawling on their hands and knees before turning the camera around.

Another interior camera captured one of the men walk downstairs briefly, before turning around go back upstairs.

The men have also been linked to similar incident in Clearcreek Twp. where they were reportedly helped by a woman.

A Clearcreek Twp. detective contacted Miamisburg police about the incident, which happened on the same day, roughly 90 minutes earlier.

The suspects were reportedly wearing the same clothes during both incidents.

“Specifically, the suspect that crawls over toward the camera in the Miamisburg incident, appears to have a white baseball cap on, with a small alligator on it which I believe is connected to the Izod brand,” said Miamisburg Det. Jason Threlkeld.

“And that same suspects, again they’re booth wearing the same clothing, but that same suspect wearing the white hat is captured in the Clearcreek Twp. footage as well.”

We are reaching out to Clearkcreek Twp. to learn more about the other incident.

Miamisburg police believe the suspects left in a newer silver or gray Mazda 5, or a similar style SUV.

Anyone with information on the break in or the subjects’ identities should contact Threlkeld at 937-847-6620.
