Police: 58-year-old man abducted at gunpoint back home safe in Dayton

DAYTON — UPDATE @5:40 a.m. Dec. 13

A woman called 911 to report masked men came into her home and abducted her boyfriend.

She said her boyfriend wasn’t hurt.

“It looks like they were trying to get in my house to steal stuff and they took off with my boyfriend and I don’t know where they went,” the woman tells the 911 dispatcher.

The man is now home safe, but his SUV remains missing.

Police have not released further details.

UPDATE @ 11:20 p.m.

The 58-year-old man is back home, but his vehicle is still missing.

The man is safe and was able to walk back to his house in the 600 block of Gramont Avenue, police said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was abducted at gunpoint by two men who also robbed him of his mid-size sport-utility vehicle, a red 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada with Ohio plates GSG 8936, police said.

A man was abducted Wednesday night by two armed men after he got out of his SUV in front of his house.

Police were called around 10 p.m. to the 600 block of Gramont Avenue.

“A 58-year-old man was abducted at gunpoint and the suspects took him and his vehicle from the scene,” Dayton police Lt. Andrew Gillig said.

Police are searching for the man’s SUV, a red 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada with Ohio plates GSG 8939.

Gillig said the suspects ambushed the victim, and that they should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who spots the victim’s SUV is urged to call 911.
