Preble Co. man allegedly held 2 females hostage

A Preble County man is accused of holding two females at gunpoint for several hours and assaulting one of them during a domestic incident on Jacksonburg Road Sunday.

Sean Zachary Barnett, 20, surrendered to deputies shortly after 8 a.m. and was booked into the Preble County Jail pending charges of abduction, felonious assault, endangering children, aggravated menacing, and domestic Violence.

According to the Preble County Sheriff's office, deputies were called to the home at 7:57 a.m. after an adult female escaped the residence and called for help. She told them she and a juvenile female had been held for several hours and Barnett had threatened to shoot them. The suspect had fired three shots inside the home during the several hour long incident, according to deputies.

Barnett soon emerged from the home unarmed along with the juvenile female, who had been assaulted, according to deputies.

Deputies did not say what the relationship between Barnett and the females is.

The case will be presented to prosecutors this week for formal charges.
