Report: Uber driver robbed after collision

DAYTON — A local Uber driver was robbed at gunpoint after a vehicle collision in the 1700 block of Vancouver Drive on Sunday, according to a city police report.

Dayton police were dispatched around 12:24 a.m. for a aggravated robbery complaint.

The Uber driver told police he was traveling on Vancouver Drive to pick up a customer. He told police he may have struck the rear of a vehicle after stopping at a four-way stop sign. The other vehicle went through the intersection first.

The victim reported the other driver got out of his vehicle and approached him holding a large silver revolver after the collision.

The victim reported other driver asked for his information, according to the police report.

“(The victim) stated he gave the male his insurance card with all his information on it, but the male kept asking for other information,” wrote Dayton Police Officer Brian Rolfes in the incident report.

The victim reported the driver took his phone after he said he was going to call police.

“The male then began to threaten to shoot (the victim),” Rolfes wrote in the police report.

The victim told police drove away from the scene. He heard three gunshots, but was unsure if the driver was aiming the gun at him.
