Donald Eugene Fife Jr. is charged with failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

He is accused of driving an SUV involved in a high-speed chase July 24 after he reportedly fled an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper who tried to pull him over for speeding.

During the pursuit, speeds reached about 100 mph.

Fife eventually came to a stop just south of the U.S. 35 interchange in Dayton after one of the SUVs tires was punctured by a tire deflation device and the vehicle crashed into the back of a cruiser.

Fife is no longer in custody and was summoned to appear Sept. 5 for arraignment in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
