Springfield police seek woman suspected of theft at Verizon store

SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Police Division is asking for the public’s help as they search for a person of interest who they say took more than $4,000 worth of phones from a Verizon store Friday.

The woman visited the store, located at 3463 E. National Road, and went to the storage room twice while an employee helped another customer, according to a message on the Springfield police Facebook page. The woman, dressed in blue scrubs, took three phones from the storage room, in addition to two others that were left on top of a desk.

The unidentified woman then put the phones in her purse and left the store, according to the Facebook post. The phones are valued at $4,540.
