Step-N-Style thief comes down roof, but has trouble getting back up

DAYTON — It took a would-be thief three tries to get out of Step-N-Style while the alarm was blaring inside the store.

Dayton police were dispatched at 4:40 a.m. Saturday to a burglary alarm at the business in the 3200 block of Siebenthaler Avenue. When officers arrived, the front and rear entrances were secure, according to a Dayton police report.

Police were called back at 5:25 a.m. after a man from the store reported there had been a break-in through the roof.

The suspect then hopped on a clothes fixture and jumped back onto the roof. He fell and tore a huge part of the drop ceiling, according to police. He attempted it a second time but fell and tore down more of the drop ceiling.
