Deputies are searching for person of interest, sheriff says

A male victim hit multiple times in a Jefferson Twp. shooting outside an apartment in the Olive Hills Apartments complex suffered life-threatening injuries, Sheriff Phil Plummer said.

  • The victim, Deonte McIntyre, 20, was hit in the neck and stomach area
  • Deputies are searching for the suspect, Re'Shawn Mize, 19
  • Wanted for questioning is Tyree Mitchell, 25
  • A silver semiautomatic handgun was used

UPDATE @ 12:21 p.m. (April 20):

Deputies are searching for Re’Shawn Mize, 19, who is considered a suspect in the shooting of Deonte McIntyre, 20.

Mize has a warrant out for his arrest.

Detectives are also searching for Tyree Mitchell, 25, who may have some information about the shooting, deputies said.

Mitchell also has a warrant for his arrest.

Both men could be armed with a weapon and anyone who has information on their whereabouts are asked to contact the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said McIntyre is listed in serious condition at a local hospital.

UPDATE @ 11:50 a.m. (April 20):

The man shot outside of the Olive Hills apartments has been identified as Deonte McIntyre, 20, of Trotwood, according to a incident report.

McIntyre had life threatening injuries following the shooting, deputies said.

We are working to get an update on McIntyre’s condition.

Deputies are trying to track down the person of interest in the shooting, Plummer said.

“It’s unfortunate this happens in the broad daylight while kids are out playing,” Plummer said.

Plummer said deputies have had some issues at the complex in the past.

“It’s not as bad as some, but we’re out here occasionally,” he said.

The Montgomery County Sheriff and other high ranking officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene of the shooting at the Olive Hills Apartment complex on Pawtucket Street in Jefferson Twp.

Our crew reported at least eight sheriff’s cruisers on the scene, and a parking lot and several apartments were blocked off with crime scene tape.
