DAYTON — Clothing and sneakers were stolen after a hole was cut into a Dayton store’s roof and two people used bed sheets to rappel inside, according to a police report.
Officers responded to City Gear on West Siebenthaler Avenue around 5 a.m. Wednesday after an alarm went off in the storage room.

Once at the scene, police didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary outside the store, but found multiple boxes of shoes and clothing on the floor.
Officers also found two bed sheets tied together leading to the roof and then noticed a hole cut into the roof, according to the report.
Video surveillance of the store showed two men going down the sheets before one kicked the back door opened and let two more people inside.
The four people were wearing gloves, hooded sweatshirts and masks, according to the report.

Video also reportedly showed the four people grabbing clothing off the racks and putting them into bags before leaving through the back door.
It is not clear how many items were taken.
