DAYTON — A Dayton teenager accused of shooting a woman last fall while she was holding her 7-month-old daughter was indicted Thursday in adult court.

Nikolas Rutledge, 17, will be arraigned Tuesday on three counts of felonious assault, each with three-year firearm specifications, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

He is accused of shooting Heather George on Nov. 12, 2018, inside a home in the 2600 block of St. Charles Avenue in Dayton in what police at the time investigated as a possible robbery.
George called 911 after she was hit by the gunfire.

“I do have the guy’s gun, it’s in my hand,” she told 911 dispatchers. “He pulled it out on me and I took it from him, and that’s how I got shot.”
The baby in George’s arms was not hurt.
Rutledge remains in juvenile detention.
