PREBLE COUNTY — A court administrator requested the Ohio Supreme Court appoint a sitting judge to the case of a former trooper accused of sex crimes, according to Preble County court documents.
No judge has been assigned to Christopher Ward’s case.
Earlier this week the court rescheduled a pretrial conference that was set for March 28 to May 30 at 10:30 a.m.
Ward’s trial was also rescheduled from April 8 to June 10.
He is facing two counts of gross sexual imposition and a count of sexual imposition.

The charges stem from two incidents, including one in January 2015 while Ward was reportedly on duty with the Ohio Highway State Patrol.
