Utility pole broken in OVI crash; S Brown School Road to be closed for repairs

VANDALIA — A utility pole is broken and one person has been arrested after a crash early this morning on South Brown School Road just south of Monte Drive in Vandalia.

According to a Vandalia police officer on scene, an initial investigation of the crash found that a Dodge Dart traveling south on South Brown School Road hit a Ford Fusion that was traveling north, and crashed in to the Dayton Power & Light pole.

The officer said that the driver of the Dart was intoxicated, and was arrested for OVI.

Nobody was injured in the crash, the officer said, although a medic responded to the scene to check on the drivers of both cars.

Our crew on scene said that the pole was heavily damaged, and that DP&L crews were on the scene.

The officer said that South Brown School Road would be closed at that point this morning while DP&L repaired the pole and power lines.

The crash remains under investigation.
