The woman killed by multiple gunshot wounds Monday in Brookville had a litany of past misdemeanor charges in Tennessee, according to records obtained by this news organization.

Sides was arrested in September 2015 on charges of possessing unlawful drug paraphernalia, three counts of simple possession or casual exchange (a Tennessee charge for possession of a controlled substance), and one count resisting arrest. A warrant was filed after a missed November court appearance. Records do not list a disposition for this case.

Earlier, in April 2015, charges of driving while license suspended, headlights in inclement weather and financial responsibility stemming from a Feb. 7 case were dismissed, but Sides pleaded guilty to driving without a license in her possession stemming from a Feb. 16 case.

Update@2:05 p.m.:

Ashley Sides’ previous run-in with Ohio police resulted in dismissed charges in connection with a 2006 aggravated robbery in Hamilton County.

Hamilton County court records obtained by this news organization show Sides was accused of aiding an unidentified male suspect in a robbery at the Super 8 Motel at 330 Glensprings Dr. in Cincinnati.

Court documents said that at 4:30 a.m. March 24, 2006, Sides had a conversation with two males and that she agreed to go to their motel room, where she talked with them.

“The defendant left the hotel room and said she would be right back,” an affidavit said. “The defendant came back and as she entered the room the male suspect entered behind her.

“The male suspect was armed with a silver handgun. The male suspect demanded money and struck one of the victims repeatedly, causing injuries to the victim. (Sides) hung up the room’s telephone to prevent the other victim from calling for help.”

The complaint filed by Cincinnati police said Sides was handed money and fled with the male suspect. It states she was identified in photographic line-ups, and cell phone records showed she was in contact with the victims.

A warrant was issued for her arrest April 13, 2006. On May 13, 2006, Sides was indicted for aggravated robbery and other charges. A bill of particulars was filed July 6, 2006, but the case was dismissed Aug. 17, 2006 “for want of prosecution.”

UPDATE @ 10:10 a.m.:

Ashley Sides died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to coroner’s office.

INITIAL REPORT:

The woman killed in the officer-involved shooting in Brookville Monday night has been identified as Ashley Sides, 31, of Cookeville, Tenn., according to the Montgomery County Coroner's office.

We are working to learn more details about who she is.

The shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. in the 700 block of Arlington Road. A Brookville police officer was also shot, but his injuries are not life threatening, and he’s recovering.

Although Brookville officers were involved in the shooting, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were the first to make contact with the vehicle Sides was allegedly in when it crashed at the Wendy's on Arlington Road, officials said.

The Cadillac was traveling east on Interstate 70 when a trooper attempted to pull it over for a traffic violation, officials said. The driver would not pull over so the trooper terminated the pursuit at his discretion because of the high rate of speed, the nature of the offense and the driver of the Cadillac was driving recklessly, the Patrol said.

When the driver exited onto Arlington, the trooper was not able to get in a position to take the exit as well because of traffic. Brookville police responded when the car crashed into the Wendy’s restaurant.

Troopers said they were not able to tell at the time of the traffic violation or brief chase whether the driver of the Cadillac was a man or a woman.
