50-year-old Dayton man indicted in double shooting

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 8:15 p.m. (Sept. 24):

A 50-year-old Dayton man was indicted Tuesday in connection to a double shooting earlier this month that injured a man and woman.

Jimmie Lee Spence Jr. will be arraigned Thursday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court for four counts of felonious assault, each with three-year firearm specifications.

He is accused of shooting a man and woman around 11 p.m. Sept. 14 in a parking lot in the 1400 block of North Keowee Street.

Spence remains in the Montgomery County Jail, however, a mugshot for him was unavailable.

A 50-year-old Dayton man will be in court Tuesday after he was arrested over the weekend in connection to a shooting.

Jimmie Lee Spence Jr. was arrested Sunday morning at his residence and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of two counts of felonious assault.

Dayton police and medics were called around 11 p.m. Saturday for a report of a shooting that happened in a parking lot for a vacant restaurant in the 1400 block of North Keowee Street.

The victims were a man and woman, both 38, and police did find a handgun, according to a Dayton police report.
