Yellow Springs man charged with OVI for fifth time

A Yellow Springs man has been charged with operating under the influence for the fifth time.

Deacon M. Minna, 37, of Yellow Springs was arrested after troopers were called to a heavily damaged truck on Robert Eastman Road in Clark County, a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The release said that Minna was trying to drive the truck home after striking a utility pole. When the truck became disabled on the roadway, he told troopers it was just overheating.

Minna displayed signs of impairment and was arrested for OVI. During the arrest, Minna was found to be in possession of felony narcotics. A breath test showed that his blood alcohol concentration was .130 percent. The arrest took place just before 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7.

Since 2001, Minna has five prior convictions of OVI. The charges are from 2001, 2012, 2013 and 2018. He is now facing charges of felony OVI and felony possession of drugs.

He is scheduled to appear in Clark County Municipal Court on Feb. 12, at 11 a.m.
