1 adult, 3 juveniles in area hospitals following rollover crash in Darke County

MONROE TOWNSHIP — One woman and three juveniles are hospitalized after a single-vehicle rollover crash Saturday afternoon in Darke County, according to a news release.

Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies responded with rescue crews at 1:43 p.m. to the crash at the intersection of State Route 49 and State Route 722.

Nica Wissel, 29, of Brookville was traveling on State Route 49 in 2008 Saturn Outlook when she traveled left of the centerline and off the left side of the roadway, Darke County Sheriff’s said.

The vehicle traveled through a ditch striking a culvert and overturned about three times before coming to rest on its top in the middle of State Route 722.

Wissel was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, the three juveniles in the backseat were transported to Dayton Children’s Hospital by Tri-Village and Arcanum rescue crews, the release said.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Suspected narcotics and paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle and believed to have been a role in the crash, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident remains under investigation.
