McLean and Hinze were both indicated by a grand jury on additional charges stemming from Collins’ death in December. McLean was indicted on four counts of murder and other felony charges including involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping, and child endangering, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office. The new charges were in addition to the previous charges McLean was indicted on in December including rape of a child, felonious assault, and endangering children.

Hinze was indicted last week on additional charges of involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping and child endangering. She was previously indicted in December on four counts of child endangering.

The third suspect charged in Collins’ death, Jennifer Ebert, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and other charges on May 27. Additional details on Ebert’s plea were not available due to it being under a court ordered seal and a sentencing date has not been set.

Dayton police and medics responded to a Kensington Drive home on Dec. 13 home after McLean reported that his 10-year-old son, Takoda Collins, was unresponsive.

Collins was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The child had bruises and cuts all over his body, according to court documents.

We’ll update this story with new details as they become available.
