Darke County man accused of killing son, arrested on murder charge

DARKE COUNTY — A Greenville man has been arrested on a preliminary charge of murder after deputies said he shot and killed his son last week.

Vincent Hill, 31, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside his house in the 2100 block of state Route 502, west of Greenville around 5:30 p.m. Friday, Chief Deputy Mark Whittaker said in a media release Monday.

During a subsequent investigation, Vincent’s father, Lawrence Hill, 55, of Greenville, was arrested hours later after a search warrant was conducted at his house, Whittaker said. Investigators added Vincent was killed Nov. 11, two days before he was found.

Lawrence remains booked in the Darke County Jail on a preliminary charge of murder. Formal charges are still pending but are expected to be filed by the Darke County Prosecutor’s Office Monday.
