Ahmad Ali, 37, was being held on felony charges of trafficking and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. A major at the sheriff’s office said Ali was an employee at the Mini Mart, however the other names of arrestees were not able to be released and charges were still being sorted out.
Clark County Sheriff Deborah Burchett said a total of four people were arrested in the bust on Wednesday afternoon – which she said was the result of a six-month long narcotics investigation into both the Mini Mart and the neighboring Sunoco Lo-Cost gas station. Both businesses are located at the intersection of Selma Road and Oak Street.
Burchett said undercover officers have been able to buy drugs and guns at either business, and “it was time to shut them down” in an effort to clean up the neighborhood.
Burchett said local law enforcement is involved in the investigation, as well as state and federal officials.
Ali was listed as an inmate in the Clark County Jail as of 9 a.m. on Thursday morning, however but is no longer listed in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
