HARRISON TWP. — UPDATE: 6:20 p.m.
A man has been arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail after deputies said he robbed a Harrison Twp. bank Tuesday morning.
Bill Madewell III, 29, was identified as the suspect arrested following an investigation and search Tuesday morning, a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said in a media release. Charges for Madewell are in the process of review by the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office, deputies said.
The robbery was reported at the Chase Bank branch at 5730 North Dixie Drive around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies said the robber handed an employee a note demanding cash and ran off after the teller gave him an undetermined amount.
Deputies searched the area with a K-9 but did not locate the robber. As their investigation continued, deputies obtained information about a possible suspect vehicle used by the robber to get away.
The suspect vehicle was located by a sheriff’s office detective seargent near Needmore Road and North Dixie Drive about two hours after the robbery, the spokesperson said.
Deputies stopped the car and detained Madewell, who was the driver. He was later booked in the jail on charges after he was interviewed by detectives.
No injuries were reported in the robbery. Additional details were not released.

Deputies have responded to a Chase Bank branch in Harrison Twp. after a robbery was reported at the bank Tuesday morning, according to initial reports.

Units were called to the branch at 5730 North Dixie Drive around 9:20 a.m. after employees reported the robbery. Initial reports indicate a man went into the bank, handed an employee a note, and fled from the business.
Deputies have requested a K-9 officer to the scene to assist in the search, initial reports indicate.
No injuries have been reported.
