MIDDLETOWN — A man who had his car stolen with his dog inside Thursday in Middletown was reunited with both the dog and car, thanks to a Good Samaritan and Middletown police, a department spokesperson said in a social media post.

The man, identified as Mr. Salyers, had his car stolen Thursday while his dog Mickey was inside the car, the police spokesperson said in the Facebook post.
A Good Samaritan found Mickey wandering on Forest Avenue and stayed with the dog until animal control units arrived.
“We are happy to report that Mr. Salyers and Mickey were happily reunited and the stolen car was recovered last night,” the spokesperson said.
