UPDATE: Dayton man in critical condition after being hit by truck on U.S. 35 Thursday

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 12:45 p.m.:

A man hit by a car on U.S. 35 early Thursday morning remains hospitalized and was critically injured in the crash, according to a hospital spokesperson.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 35 near Liscum Drive around 3:20 a.m. Friday, according to dispatch records.

The man, identified as a 31-year-old from Dayton, was in one of the lanes of eastbound U.S. 35 when he was hit by the truck, a preliminary Dayton police crash report shows.

The man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he’s listed in critical condition as of Thursday afternoon, a spokesperson for the hospital told News Center 7.

According to the police investigation the driver of the truck was able to slow down before he hit the man. The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash and it was not immediately known if he was facing any citations or charges.

Additional details, including other potential factors in the crash were not released.
