UD Public Safety was called to the bike path near Irving Avenue and Shafor Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. after the victim reported the incident.
The victim, identified as a non-student female, reported a man jogging in front of her exposed himself, “engaged in lewd behavior” and hit her before he fled the scene, UD officials said in the message to campus members.
The suspect was last seen running towards Shafor Boulevard. Officers described him as having a smaller athletic build and was wearing black shorts, a burgundy sweatshirt, and white surgical mask.
