SPRINGFIELD — A man is dead after a shooting in Springfield in Thursday night.

Thomas A. Gill was taken from the scene to Springfield Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police were dispatched to the area of Kenton and Burt streets about 9:05 p.m. on the report that someone had been shot.
When police got on scene, the located Gill suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.
The investigation is ongoing.
