MONTGOMERY CO. — Dustin A. Hatfield was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted for the murder of David B. Robinson in late March.

A jury found Hatfield guilty of two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, three counts of tampering with evidence, and one count of failure to comply with order or signal of a police officer.

Investigators arrived to Robinson’s home on Elkins Avenue March 28 after Hatfield, 28, allegedly robbed, shot and killed him, stated a media release from the prosecutor’s office.

A vehicle and two men were described leaving the scene by witnesses and a vehicle with the same description was later spotted by Miamisburg Police. The vehicle fled when an officer activated their cruiser lights and attempted to stop them.

The car, driven by William Denny with Hatfield in the passenger seat, led police on a multiple county high speed chase that ended when the car crashed into a median near Paul Brown Stadium.

During the pursuit, Hatfield was seen throwing evidence out of the window, including the disassembled murder weapon.

Hatfield will not be eligible for consideration of parole until he has served at least 24 years in prison.
