One person flown to hospital after crash in Darke County

DARKE COUNTY — A 51-year-old man was flown by CareFlight to the hospital after an injury accident in Darke County Saturday afternoon.

Deputies responded to Red River West Grove Road and Fourman Road at 1:49 p.m., according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

A white 2006 Chevy Cargo van was traveling northbound on Red River West Grove Road when it was struck by a black 1983 Honda Magna motorcycle traveling southbound, the sheriff’s office said.

The driver of the van, Felipe Bastida, 51, of Dayton was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

David Barga, 27, of Bradford, was ejected from his motorcycle and not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

He was treated and released from the scene, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident remains under investigation.
