DAYTON — UPDATE @ 3:20 p.m.:
A man was transported to an area hospital for treatment after he was found shot in a car on West Hillcrest Avenue near Mayfair Road in Dayton Monday morning, Lt. Matt Beavers said.
The condition of the victim was not released.
Witnesses reported at least one person fled the scene on foot after the shooting. Initial reports indicate the investigation into the shooting extended to a house on Cellarius Court, which is near the scene of the initial incident.
Homicide detectives and members of the Dayton police Violent Crimes Bureau responded and were conducting the investigation.

Dayton police have responded to a reported shooting near the intersection of West Hillcrest Avenue and Mayfair Road Monday afternoon.

Officers and medics were requested to the intersection around 2 p.m. on reports of a shooting victim that was in a vehicle, emergency scanner traffic indicates.
The condition of the victim was not immediately known.
