DAYTON — UPDATE @ 5:07 p.m.:
A man injured in a shooting in Dayton Wednesday afternoon.

Police and medics were called to the area of Wyoming Street and Steele Avenue around 1 p.m. on reports of a person shot.
Dispatch records indicate a man was found with a gunshot wound to the neck.
“A gentleman just ran out in the road. I guess he just got shot in the neck,” a man told dispatch in a 911 call obtained through a public records request.
In a separate 911 call, a woman told dispatchers she shot the man.
“Do you know who shot him?” the dispatcher asked.
“It was me,” the woman replied.

She claimed the man was her sister’s boyfriend and that there was a domestic violence incident.
Dayton Police Sgt. Eric Brown said the man was alert and conscious when crews arrived on scene. He was later transported to an area hospital. The condition of the man was not immediately known.
Police blocked-off Wyoming Street between Steele Avenue and Dover Street for the investigation.
Brown said a person of interest was identified and that detectives would be speaking with that person.
