DAYTON — UPDATE @ 10 a.m. (Oct. 12):
Police have arrested a man on a preliminary charge of murder stemming from the deadly shooting of a woman in Dayton Monday.
Ricky Renado Hill, 44, was arrested around 5 p.m. on Watervliet Avenue near Wayne Avenue, according to a Dayton police incident report.
Hill is accused of shooting Faith Guffey, 25, on Caho Street in Dayton around 11:30 a.m. Guffey was transported to an area hospital but later died from her injuries, Dayton police Lt. Jason Hall said in an emailed statement to News Center 7.
By Monday night, Hall said police had identified a person of interest in the shooting, but officers declined to release details on that person of interest.

The victim of a shooting on Caho Street in Dayton late Monday morning has died from her injuries, according to Dayton police Lt. Jason Hall.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirmed with News Center 7 that Faith Guffey was the victim of the shooting.
Guffey was found shot in the 100 block of Caho Street, near Nassau Street around 11:30 a.m. She had been transported to a Dayton hospital for treatment but has since died from her injuries.
Hall said police are investigating this incident as a homicide and have identified a person of interest in the case. Police did not release additional details on the person they consider the person of interest.

Dayton homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a woman suffering with life-threatening injuries Monday morning.

Police and medics were called to the 100 block of Caho Street, near Nassau Street around 11:30 a.m. on reports of a person shot.
The victim, only identified as an adult woman, was found with a gunshot wound and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, Lt. Jason Hall told News Center 7. The victim’s injuries are believed to be life-threatening, Hall said.
A large crime scene has been established by police, with crime scene tape up around most of Caho Street.
Hall said further details on the incident were still under investigation and were not released. Hall encouraged anyone who witnessed the crime or has information that could help investigators to call Dayton police at 937-333-2677 or Miami Valley Crime Stoppers at 937-222-7867.
Dayton police were involved in a pursuit of a vehicle that was believed to be involved, however Hall said officers now believe that vehicle was not connected. Additional details about that incident were also not released.
