MIDDLETOWN — UPDATE @ 3:10 p.m. (May 13):
The man who police said was a person of interest in a deadly shooting in Middletown is in police custody, according to a city spokesperson.
Dhameer Haamid Scott, 24, of Middletown was located and is in police custody Wednesday afternoon, officials confirmed.
Details surrounding his arrest were not immediately available.
Scott was named a person of interest after John Booker, 36, died in a shooting on Yankee Road Monday night.

Middletown police are looking for a man who is considered armed and dangerous after a deadly shooting Monday night.

John Booker, 36, of Middletown was found shot and seriously injured in the 1400 block of Yankee Road around 7:45 p.m., police said in a media release. Booker was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police said they identified a person of interest, identified as Dhameer Haamid Scott, 24, of Middletown. Scott is described as a black man with a distinctive money sign tattoo on his neck, investigators said.
