Son of Fairfield Twp. fire victim’s boyfriend facing aggravated arson, felonious assault charges

FAIRFIELD TWP. — Police have provided new information about the 23-year-old man they arrested Thursday after a woman was set on fire inside a Fairfield Twp. home.

Robbi Robinson was arrested Thursday after police and fire crews responded to the 2600 block of Arroyo Ridge on reports of a house fire and a woman lying in the backyard. Robinson, who lived a the address of the fire, was booked in the Butler County Jail on aggravated arson and felonious assault charges.

Fairfield Twp. police revealed Friday that Robinson is the son of the victim’s boyfriend. Police also noted that they are not identifying the victim until “investigators assess the evidence and determine all crimes committed.”

The woman had multiple injuries, including severe burns to her body, when she was found by first responders. She was transported to UC Medical Center in critical condition.

Investigators previously told our news partners at WCPO in Cincinnati that the woman jumped from a second-story window while she was on fire.

“It’s one that makes your hair stand up on the back of your neck, I don’t care how long you’ve been doing it,” Sgt. Brandon McCroskey told WCPO about the case.

News Center 7 checked Friday and Robinson remains in the Butler County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The incident remains under investigation.
